The Tea Museum
by David Lee Hoffman
David spent 35 years collecting Yixing & other unique teapots. You can now see all of them here at the online Tea Museum.
One Of The Most Unique & Rare Teapot Collections In The World
David Lee Hoffman spent much of his younger years traveling the world. This included Asia, and specifically China being a big spot of exploration. During this time he fell in love with tea, and spent many years building his own tea business that imported authentic Chinese tea. But with tea, also comes teapots! And throughout his travels he also collected hundreds of handmade Chinese teapots. Many unique and all hand crafted from Chinese artists & craftsmen. Now, you can view this historical collection for the time on the Tea Museum website.
~300 Teapots Across 15 Different Categories
We currently have just under 300 teapots listed on the website. We slowly add more as time progresses, but the most rare and unique pots are already visible on this website! The most popular Chinese teapot is the "YiXing" teapot, know for the specific type of clay (yixing) it is made out of. But you will also find wooden, porcelain, and even stone pots!
The Missing Collection
"The Missing Collection" consists of handcrafted bamboo teapots. They are very unique, which is why David collected them. Unfortunately, these specific pots went missing due to a robbery. Luckily David had them all photographed before the incident, so you can still see them here!
